The aim of the course is to develop an understanding of the usefulness and capabilities of Information Technology, familiarity with widely used operating systems, the use of basic tools for searching for information on the Internet, and the use of spreadsheets for solving problems relevant to accounting practice, as well as the use of VBA for programming.
The course objectives are:
(a) To familiarize students with fundamental concepts of Informatics, which will provide the basis for developing more specialized knowledge.
(b) To enable students to understand the structure of information in digital form and the ways in which it can be stored, processed, and transmitted.
(c) To develop students’ understanding of the usefulness and capabilities of Computer and Communication Sciences, as well as of contemporary technological developments.
