The Student Complaints and Appeals Management Regulation (KADIPE) aims, through an appropriate management mechanism, to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services provided by the Academic Departments of Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) to all students enrolled in first-, second-, and third-cycle Study Programmes.
KADIPE establishes and defines procedures that ensure the reliable, systematic, impartial, and continuously improving recording and handling of problems or malfunctions encountered by students during their studies. Before submitting a complaint or appeal, students are expected to consult the Study Guides, as well as the general and specific Study Regulations of the Study Programmes in which they are enrolled, together with the University’s general operating regulations, so that they are aware of their rights and obligations.
In addition, DUTH students may make use of the following mechanisms and channels for submitting complaints:
Questionnaires: Students may complete questionnaires prepared by the Quality Assurance Unit of DUTH (MODIP-DUTH), through which they can anonymously evaluate:
- the educational process
- catering and accommodation services
- digital services
- available infrastructure
- administrative services and procedures
Student Ombudsman: The Regulation Governing the Operation of the Student Ombudsman, which forms part of the University’s Internal Regulations, sets out in detail the responsibilities of the Student Ombudsman and describes the procedure for submitting complaints and appeals falling within the scope of the Ombudsman’s responsibilities.
Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Committee: The University’s Internal Regulations set out in detail the responsibilities of the Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Committee and describe the procedure for submitting complaints and appeals falling within its remit.
Ethics Committee: The Code of Ethics and Good Practice, which forms part of the University’s Internal Regulations, sets out in detail the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee and describes the procedure for submitting complaints and appeals falling within its remit.
