Field of Expertise The Intellectual and Industrial Property Laboratory was officially established in September 2020 and operates as an academic unit of the Department of Accounting and Finance at Democritus University of Thrace.
The Laboratory is active in the following academic and research fields: copyright law and protection, trademark protection, patent protection, industrial design, competition law, consumer rights protection in sales contracts, transaction and contract law, information technology law, databases, bioethics and professional ethics, innovation and start-up law, as well as the legal and regulatory framework governing the development of technological applications and artificial intelligence.
Mission The Laboratory seeks to develop cooperation with public-sector bodies, organisations, institutes, as well as businesses and other private-sector stakeholders in relevant scientific fields, with the aim of contributing to the study and resolution of legal issues.
